Choosing to bat first, Moorooduc set their opponents a difficult target of 222 to chase down. Opener Brenton Alp got the run chase off to a good start, scoring 60 runs. Number four batsman Bradley McDonald also contributed some runs to the scoreboard with a knock of 42. Somerville took the game right down to the wire, but couldn’t get over the line.
