Belle Année Rosé Rolls Out Across Tesco Estate

Rosé wine producer Maison Mirabeau has announced a nationwide launch of its Belle Année Rosé (RRP £10) into Tesco. Rolling out to 780 stores nationwide, including Metro, Express, Superstore and Extra, it is Mirabeau’s widest-reaching supermarket distribution to date.
Part of the Mirabeau Atelier range, Belle Année launched in 2020 and has since been awarded Gold Medal for ‘Drinks Business Global Masters Rosé’, and the Drinks Business Award for ‘best rosé in bottle for under £10’.
Stephen Cronk, founder of Mirabeau, said: “We are extremely excited to be partnering with Tesco to launch our trendy and accessible Belle Année by Mirabeau Rosé in the UK’s largest retailer. Having already won the best Rosé for it’s price category in last year’s Rosé Masters, this charming pale pink wine is the perfect addition to our already versatile and exciting range.” ....

Koya Brandy
Brandy label Koya, made by China’s oldest and largest leading wine and spirits producer Changyu, launched in the UK last month. The brandy is produced at Chateau Koya in Yantai in northeastern China, and the portfolio comprises two expressions: Koya Brandy VSOP 6 years and Koya Brandy XO 10 years. The producer distills Ugni Blanc grapes in traditional French Charentais pot stills made by Chalvignac Prulho. The quality and style of the Koya house blend is overseen by master distiller Zhang Baochun, who is respected in China for her brandy expertise, and has over 30 years’ experience working in the industry. ....

The hard seltzer category exploded in the UK last year and we predict that the spiked seltzer trend will gather momentum in 2021. While the category continues to be lead by US brands like White Claw and Truly, a slew of British-backed brands emerged on the scene last year, in a trend set to mushroom in 2021. Lockdown has given ‘alternative’ wine packaging an opportunity to thrive in the UK, with bag-in-box sales in particular boosted by an increase in at-home drinking. But the industry needs to take heed of companies like Tesla if it is to challenge the glass bottle, believes one ambitious start-up looking to capture the next generation of wine drinkers.
