Over 100 applications submitted for UNDP competition of local development initiatives in Belarus Archive photo MINSK, 2 February (BelTA) – Applications for the second edition of the competition of initiatives for local development under the project “Support to Local Development in the Republic of Belarus” closed at the end of January, BelTA learned from the project s PR specialist Nadezhda Sinelnik. Initiatives taking part in the competition were divided into two groups: cluster initiatives and socially significant initiatives. The organizers of the competition received 113 applications from 12 pilot districts: 37 cluster initiatives and 76 socially significant initiatives. “We received many applications from Borisov District and Molodechno District of Minsk Oblast and Orsha District of Vitebsk Oblast. These were the top three districts in terms of the number of submitted applications. The largest number of cluster initiatives came from Orsha District, ....
Belarus to set up its first state corporation in farm machinery industry During the press conference MINSK, 19 January (BelTA) – Belarus first state corporation will be established in the agricultural machinery industry, Belarus Economy Minister Aleksandr Chervyakov told journalists at the presentation of Belarus social and economic development program for 2021-2025 on 19 January, BelTA has learned. “We have looked into the prospects for setting up the first pilot state corporation in the agricultural machinery industry, which will comprise about 30 enterprises with Br3 billion in overall revenues,” Aleksandr Chervyakov said. The Belarusian Economy Ministry expects the first state corporation to become a major player in foreign markets for agricultural machinery. ....
Belarus, Russia s Vladimir Oblast sign action plan to implement cooperation agreement Photo courtesy of the Belarusian Economy Ministry MINSK, 17 December (BelTA) – An action plan to implement the agreement on cooperation in trade, economy, science, technology, culture, and social affairs between the Belarusian government and the administration of Russia s Vladimir Oblast for 2021-2023 was signed during the Vladimir Investment Congress 2020. The action plan was signed by Belarus Economy Minister Aleksandr Chervyakov and Vladimir Oblast Governor Vladimir Sipyagin during a videoconference, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian Economy Ministry. The action plan sets forth activities in various fields of the bilateral cooperation and is aimed at intensifying direct ties between economic entities of Belarus and Vladimir Oblast. Belarus, China set up platform to work on access to Chinese market MINSK, 16 December (BelTA) – Belarus and the People s Republic of China have set up a platform for the sake of taking a closer look at matters of access to the Chinese market. First Deputy Prime Minister of Belarus Nikolai Snopkov made the statement to comment on results of the latest session of the Belarus-China intergovernmental committee on cooperation. The session took place on 14 December, the press service of the Belarusian government told BelTA. According to Nikolai Snopkov, profound strategic decisions were made during the session. The decisions will reveal the potential of bilateral cooperation. ....
