A forthcoming auto assembly plant jointly owned by Mazda and Toyota will conduct another round of hiring to add some 3,000 new jobs, Alabama officials announced.
Mazda Toyota Manufacturing in Huntsville is expected to begin production next year, more than three years after the $1.6 billion project was first announced by the Japanese automakers and state leaders. The joint venture began hiring for the facility in January and announced an additional $830 million investment in Huntsville when its workforce reached 600 in August.
