Efforts to update Manchester’s elementary schools over the next 25 years could include plans ranging from millions of dollars in renovations and rebuilds to potential school closures, school board members
Manchester school officials are asking the city to waive millions in permit fees for construction work associated with the district’s $306 million facilities plan.
THE ENVIRONMENTAL Protection Agency will conduct a lead inspection sweep in Manchester and surrounding communities to identify areas of higher risk and to prevent childhood lead poisoning.
Two free public events, featuring presentations by Manchester Public Health, will be held April 9, 5:30 to 7 p.m. at Beech Street Elementary School and May 7, 5:30 to 7 p.m. at Parkside Middle School. Presentations will introduce parents and families to the possible lead hazards in their homes, encourage early childhood testing, and explain the necessary actions and available services following a positive test.
