Tributes continued to pour in over the weekend for victims of Thursday night s mass shooting as dozens of mourners attended vigils in downtown Indianapolis and Beech Grove on Sunday.
About 75 people attended a vigil at Monument Circle in Downtown in the afternoon while a similarly sized group gathered in the rain to pray at Beech Grove City Hall in the evening.
At Monument Circle, family members and friends of those who died took turns placing red, white, pink and yellow flowers in front of plaques labeled with the victims names.
Speakers shared memories of the loved ones they lost when a 19-year-old shot and killed eight people and injured several others at a FedEx facility near the airport. They also used the opportunity to press for stricter gun laws.
