Arahanga has been working in the film industry on and off for 16 years, Initially working in wardrobe and other roles on films, including Taika Waititi’s first two films, before spending five years studying towards Bachelor of Health Science. Since 2016, she has written and directed three films, beginning with the self-written Laundry. A character-driven, joyful comedy about a happily married but frustrated woman struggling to find intimacy due to the demands of raising a family, the film made it into NZIFF Best Shorts and Show Me Shorts 2017, where it was nominated for four awards, including best screenplay, director and film. ....
