Written by dariandudrick on June 28, 2021 City Council is expected once again to hear the idea of a beach in Cody. The topic is on the agenda of the council’s work session Tuesday, July 13. The meeting starts at 5 p.m. A beach, which would be located at Markham Reservoir, was discussed Monday morning on KODI’s “Speak Your Piece with Darian Dudrick.” Dudrick’s guests were City Administrator Barry Cook and Public Works Director Phillip Bowman. No other details of the beach are known at this time, but funding will be the biggest obstacle, Cook said, just as it was when one was proposed for Beck Lake Park more than seven years ago. ....
Coming up Saturday June 5 th will be kid’s fishing day, as part of Wyoming Free fishing day. This event is for kids 14 and under. Their will be a fishing derby and Beck Lake Park that will be from 9am to 12 noon. Registration is required and you can register between 8am and 9am. Free Lunch, free tackle and free fishing poles will be given out to the first 200 kids who register. At 11am, watch fish stocking. 40 best fish prizes will happen at 1pm, must be present to win.
