Blaq Bear Eco Adventure Routes, which has had to change its offerings somewhat since the pandemic began, hopes soon to return to providing services to local hikers and foodies.
Blaq Bear is owned and operated by Carole Blaquiere, a Hike Ontario-certified Wilderness Hike Leader. She officially launched her Travel Industry Council of Ontario-registered business in spring 2017 after a positive experience with a similar business in her own travels.
“In 2013, I vacationed in Ireland, hiking the Kerry Way,” Blaquiere told Sault This Week. “We hiked 10 to 20 kilometres per day from town to town. All the logistics were taken care of, including accommodations, luggage transfers, and food. All we had to do was show up with our daypacks. I thought that this was an awesome idea that I could try out at home. ....
