There are few fast chargers through devon and cornwall. five days, and nearly 1,500 miles later, we ve finally made it to land s end. for everyone, this is an achievement. just a couple of years ago, sending 45 battery cars and vans together would not have been possible. we have chosen deliberately a challenging route, and everybody has made it. as we scale new cars going electric we will have to do more. we ll have to get more and faster charges, so there s work to be done. for now, away from cities and motorways, the charging infrastructure isn t keeping up with the public s desire to go electric. paul clifton, bbc south today, lands end. ....

We need more wonderful fundraisers like those in memory of olly gardner. if we can just save one life, then that would, to me, would be the biggest legacy olly could leave. it s a legacy that continues to provide hope for others. brenda nichols, bbc south today. the windswept yorkshire wolds can often be a tough place for wildlife. and when six kestrel chicks lost their mother there were fears they would not survive. that is until their dad started to behave like their mum! the wildlife expert who s captured this behaviour on camera says he s never seen anything like it. paul murphy reports. it is extremely unusual for a male bird of prey to feed his checks and keep them warm but that is exactly what is being witnessed by robert fuller s hidden cameras near to his home. the chicks mother disappeared ....

Sinead carroll, bbc south today. many of us will have had a go at diy projects during lockdown, but most won t have gone as far as former soldier mike allen who built a castle on a mountainside in south wales. mike developed ptsd when he served in afghanistan and became homeless but found being outside and building helped him cope. he s now using the fort to run therapy and practical courses to help others with their mental health. nelli bird went to meet him. high above the valley, sometimes on top of the cloud, you might just spot this castle. it s not from medieval times, just a couple of years old, but it still has a story to tell. it s been to a certain extent a big coping mechanism. given me something to focus on and work towards and even on bad days, i can still get up and come here and collect some stone, no matter what s going on. mike allen built this castle by hand. ....
