The deadline to file for a place on one of the elections for the eight local taxing entities is next Friday with each entity. The elections will be held during the May 1 uniform election date, and are contracted through the Young County Election’s Office.
The city of Graham, Graham ISD, city of Olney, Olney ISD, Olney Hamilton Hospital, Newcastle ISD, city of Newcastle and Baylor County Water District are all having elected positions expiring May 1. The first day to file to be on the ballot was Wednesday, Jan. 13 for local political subdivisions.
