President peskin this is not his first anti Housing Action a long list recently, i time to highlight some of the recent actions hes taken for i get it off to a housing champion with us weve been dealing with a number of changes related to our Housing Element and hes pushed back almost every turn. Weve had legislation up here such as a recent fire Code Amendment by supervisor chan and if a champion that will make that hard to build homes in january and the City Attorney to look at whether or not we are unfairly targeted in San Francisco and making the same statement that senator wiener said recent actions and well list get back to those with we have champions on the board of supervisors looking at for us gracious enough to join us supervisor dorsey to get the Housing Element in place im sorry to bring him all 2340u9 to say a few words. Riots on an august 9 in 1966. We dont know exactly what day it happened but we do know that it happened in august. I asked myself, why is it that we dont know what day it happened . It is monumental history. Why dont we know . The sad reality of it is that this monumental occurrence was so major and unlike anything that had ever occurred before at that scale in the United States , that an effort to eliminate it from records and existence ensued. It persisted. And because of it, watershed moments in the lbgtq Civil Rights Movement followed. Such as the stonewall riots of 1969. So, the idea transgender History Month began to take shape via this train of thought. I thought about black History Month and womens History Month. Now national low recognized months. And the essential education and awareness that they bring to the general masses every year. That knowledge is critical in bringing awareness and understanding of the struggles and history that have taken place to get where we are now
