even heavy flooding. two days before winter offici officially begins, a monster storm is pounding the east coast and all but shutting down some areas. one of the hardest hit is roanoke, virginia, where police have reported more than 300 accidents with a foot of snow. the governor has declared a state of emergency and at least 400 national guard soldiers have been called up. this is the scene further south in greensboro, north carolina. my goodness. snow, ice, and freezing rain socked the western part of the state, knocking out power to tens of thousands. and it s not just causing snow problems. in charleston, south carolina, heavier rain caused severe flooding and led to several road closures there due to water. dozens of people had to be rescued from their cars. cnn crews are in place right now with the latest on this massive storm. kate bolduan is in washington where a blizzard warning is in effect and a state of emergency has been declared. first to meteorologist r ....
