In the spirit of the season, we turn over today s column in its entirety to the well-worn quill of LZ LAKEHAWK s faithful Minister of the Gospel – Altoona s retired Navy Chaplain Bob Haines:
To start off this week’s thought, I want to take the opportunity to extend a very Merry Christmas – especially to our Lake and Sumter County military veterans and those who love them.
This year’s celebration may not be the best, but I hope that we ll all make do – and exceed expectations! For me, it’s fairly easy because I can compare our current, challenging situation to a number of Christmases from my early days serving in the Air Force in Vietnam and other faraway places. ....
