CHR to probe rape-slay of minor in Isabela

MANILA - The Commission on Human Rights (CHR) said Thursday it would pursue its investigation on another rape-slay case of a minor in Santiago City, Isabela. In a statement, CHR Executive Director Lawyer Jacqueline Ann de Guia condemned the alleged rape-slay of a 10-year-old girl whose body was found in Mabiret River, Purok 4, Balluarte, Santiago City on Wednesday. "It is concerning that barely a week has passed since CHR has taken cognizance and investigated a similar incident in Batangas," she said. "We strongly condemn this heinous crime and all other acts of violence towards children". On May 17, the CHR said it would investigate the rape-slay of a five-year-old girl in Barangay Wawa, Batangas City last May 14.
