JAMMU, Jan 2: The recently elected Councillors of the National Conference and the Congress in Ramban district today resolved to join hands and form the District Development Council in the larger interest of the development in the area and to strengthen the secular forces, as per urges and aspirations of the people.
Soon after arriving at the decision, the six Councillors of the National Conference Dr Shamshad Shan, Shamim Akhter, Sakhi Mohammed, Gulshan Parveen, Jagveer Dass and Mohammed Shafi Zargar and the two Councillors of the Congress Imtiyaz Ahmed Khandey and Bashir Ahmed Naik, led by the district presidents of the respective parties, called on Provincial President Devender Singh Rana here and pledged to work for respecting the mandate of the people. ....

SRINAGAR: The elected members of maiden District Development Council (DDC) elections held in the history of Jammu and Kashmir were on Monday administered oath by respective district heads across all the districts of Jammu and Kashmir.
On the occasion, 138 DDC members representing 138 Block Constituencies of 10 districts of the division swore in the name of God and pledged to bear true faith and allegiance to the constitution of India and also uphold the Sovereignty of India.
