London Fire Brigade (LFB) said that 12 fire engines and some eighty firefighters were needed to tackle the inferno, which broke out in the moments before 6.36pm on Saturday when they received the call. Fire crews from rom Surbiton, Kingston, Sutton, Twickenham, Croydon and Norbury fire stations proceeded to battle the blaze for the next four hours and onto into Saturday night, bringing it under control by 10.25pm.
