Losing on average close to 700,000 jobs a month. sure, that s slowed down. but unemployment has jumped to 10%. and the unemployed are getting frustrated. one of the biggest worries we have right now is not only generating enough jobs to lower the unemployment rate but reengaging those people unemployed for more than six months. think of it, nearly 40% of the unemployed have been out of work more than six months and only about 58% of the entire adult population is even working right now. that s the lowest level since the early 1980s. you say help is on the way, mr. president. but americans need jobs now. that s why barry hess singer has given up on construction and has gone back to school for physical therapy. he s getting free tuition funded by the stimulus package you signed last year. it feels good to finally get into a career where i think i ll be working every day. thank you, guys. ....
