founders of save the syrian children. thanks so much for being here with us. just to start, what are your folks on the ground seeing in the areas hit hardest by the quake? yeah, we ve been operating in northwest syria for the last seven years so we ve witnessed assad s barrel bombings, indiscriminate bombings at civilians, markets, schools, gas attacks. and this is one of the worst experiences our doctors have seen on the ground, just the sheer number of casualties from this earthquake, it s something unprecedented. so it is a really dire situation in an already very vulnerable place. yeah, i mean, in turkey, for example, every day, even hundreds of hours after the earthquake, we re still seeing people some of them children, being pulled from the rubble. but not so in syria. there doesn t seem to be as much hope there. how hard is it to actually access these areas? i mean, each part of the country

pressure on north korea, whether through china or international forums like the united nations. another disturbing development today, senator. the state department now saying that the bashar al assad regime in syria is using a crematorium to dispose of the remains of dissidents so there will be little evidence. this clearly is another indication that the syrian president is a war criminal. i assume you agree with that. what should the u.s. do about this and they released the photos of this crematorium? wolf, bashar al assad is one of the most brutal dictators in modern history, a war criminal who has used every possible tool of repression and brutality against his own people. he s used cluster bombs, barrel bombings, scud missiles, chemical weapons and this is just another reminder of why bashar al assad should be treated as a war criminal and why the approach taken by the
