Attorneys office is taking this seriously. I think its really important to see that as a step towards accountability. Eight inmates are charged with the attacks on deputies at the county jails, the incidents causing the sheriff to shut down the jails for several days. Injuries include bumps to the head and bite marks by an inmate who was restrained. We have deputies that enforce the rules and deputies that dont enforce the rules, so the ones that enforce the rules are the ones that become the focus of peoples anger or frustration. Half of those charged were in jail on murder charges. Three others had violent offenses like burglary and having a gun. We have to deal with making sure our staff are equipped, not just with, safety equipment, but also with the ability to deescalate situations and deal with people. Anytime someones exhausted or fatigued, it affects performance, it affects reactionary time, so all of this has an impact. Ken lomba with the San Francisco Deputy Sheriffs Associat
Here. Another system is on the way, this system is rolling in leading edge. You can see to the north a lot of low clouds over us, but we will have a cloudy, mostly cloudy day. Well i was just looking at it and its there. Its just the way it works. 60s on the temps. Most of the inland locations are running pretty far below average. All right, heres sal and talk about hopefully nothing. Yeah you know its pretty light out there which is what i like steve, it should be light at this hour of the morning. And my humble opinion. Here it is, 4 00. It looks very good. As you drive across the bridge and to San Francisco. Weve also been looking at some of the other freeways here, just to get a temperature on the traffic, so to speak. It looks very light. And on the san mateo bridge it looks very good. No major issues here. South bay commute off to a great start. 401. Lets get back to the headlines. Okay, sal. Thank you. Will, the campus of the university of Southern California is now closed until
Out there, 60s on the temps not so far below average coast and bay, but inland for sure. Well on the morning commute. For many of you its a long way there. And to help you navigate it, heres our ace traffic reporter, Sal Castaneda. Why thank you, steve. I was just sitting on reminiscing about when this particular commute im going to show you was a lot busier at this time before the pandemic. Now it seems pretty light here on interstate 80 northbound driving up. It does get a little slow sometimes in the 8 00 hour near the end, but things seem to be much better. Lets also look at the bay bridge toll plaza now that is backed up to the maze, but most days this starts clearing up as we get closer to nine. Well keep you posted. Its 701. Lets get back to the headlines. If you live in San Francisco or visit frequently and think parking is difficult now, it could get even more difficult. Oh boy. Now some workers with the sfmta say who are responsible for the enforcement. Theyre worrying about
Day in court. Jenna. Cristian and heather, this is a case that goes to the fundamental core of how we define president ial power and also whether protections, while someone is in office extends after they leave office. We will hear argument this morning in case 23 939 trump versus United States. Mr. Donald trumps attorney d john sauer began the hearing with his Opening Statements without president ial immunity from criminal prosecution, there can be no presidency as we know it. For 234 years of american history, no president was ever prosecuted for his official acts. Sauer claimed Donald Trumps actions were official when trump tried to switch the 2020 Election Results to his favor. Trumps attorney argued that a former president should qualify for immunity from prosecution for official acts while in office, but the governments attorney, michael dreeben, said such president ial immunity has no foundation in the constitution or the Supreme Courts history. This court has never recognized a
