The Go Figure: Contemporary Painters and the Human Form exhibit continues through March 28 at the Amarillo Museum of Art.  
Go Figure includes the work of six artists who use the human figure in their work, according to a news release.
Each of these artists’ unique interpretations of human form reflect back to the viewer an insight into the human condition. The trompe l’oeil paintings by Vera Barnett and more classically painted works by Barnaby Fitzgerald border on the surreal, while the work of Miles Cleveland Goodwin and Sean Cairns tend toward the nonfictional, personal, and melancholy. ....

Officials with the Amarillo Museum of Art recently announced details for its upcoming exhibition Go Figure: Contemporary Painters and the Human Form, which opens Friday at the museum, located at 2200 S. Van Buren on the Washington Street campus of Amarillo College. 
According to a news release, the exhibition includes six artists whose work includes the human figure, what the museum hopes will reflect an insight into the overall human condition. 
The trompe l’oeil paintings by Vera Barnett and more classically painted works by Barnaby Fitzgerald border on the surreal, while the work of Miles Cleveland Goodwin and Sean Cairns tend toward the nonfictional, personal, and melancholy, the release reads. The intense, expressive color of Lindy Chambers compositions and the evocative linear forms in Otis Hubard’s paintings are more abstract and leave some interpretation up to the viewer.
