ASBURY PARK – The Asbury Park School District received a gift of 10 evergreen trees last week. “Tree planting helps to keep the community vibrant and make it a greener, healthier and more sustainable environment for all,” Superintendent Sancha K. Gray said. “The goal is to restore, recycle and fund nature for future generations.” The trees were donated by Asbury Park Toy Drive and Madison Marquette, both of whom have been longtime supporters of the school district. In celebration, members of the organization’s respective boards held a tree planting ceremony on Jan. 27, 2021. The stately pines are scattered in two rows on the open fields that divide the Barack H. Obama Elementary School and the Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Upper Elementary School on Bangs Avenue. ....
