The first ever tartan for a Caribbean island is from Glasgow
A GLASGOW kiltmaker has created the first ever tartan for a Caribbean island.
Robert Guibal, owner of James Robertson Kiltmaker in Sauchiehall Street, designed the officially registered, blue, black and yellow Island of Barbados Tartan in celebration of the historic ties between the two countries.
“Scotland and Barbados have a deep shared heritage and for many years, we have been looking for the perfect way to recognise this,” says Cheryl Carter, Director of Barbados Tourism Marketing Inc.
“We’re proud to be the first Caribbean island to have its own official tartan.” ....
