Health Minister says A&E to reopen in June

Minister of Health and Wellness, Lieutenant Colonel Jeffrey Bostic announced on Sunday that the upgraded Accident and Emergency Department (A&E) at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital (QEH) will be opening in another three weeks.
Speaking at the Barbados Labour Party’s Stan’ Home Political Mass Rally held virtually for the most part, he said that “the weekend of June 12” was the date set for the full reopening to the public, while he noted that construction had ended, and it was in the snagging stages now.
“This is very important,” he said to applause from people at The Lester Vaughan School from where the rally was streamed “live”. ....

Bradshaw: 11-Plus date soon

Barbadians will soon be informed of the date for this year’s Barbados Secondary Schools’ Entrance Examination, also known as the 11-Plus.
Minister of Education Santia Bradshaw gave this assurance on Sunday during the Barbados Labour Party Stan’ Home Political Mass Rally that was held online.
“Don’t worry about the 11-Plus ’cause I know many people worried. I told the country we were going to do the assessments on the children; the assessments are under way. I give the assurance the next two weeks or sooner, we will have a position as far as the 11-Plus date is concerned. That is our commitment to you,” she said. ....
