2 drug personalities killed in Nueva Ecija buy-bust

Published February 21, 2021, 4:37 PM LUPAO, Nueva Ecija – Two suspected drug personalities were killed in a buy-bust operation in Barangay Parista before dawn here Saturday. Town police chief Police Capt. Ronan James Eblahan identified one of the suspects as Jeffrey Sumang of Barangay Bangad, Cabanatuan City. The identity of the second suspect remains unknown as of posting time. Police said the suspects drew their guns and opened fire when they sensed that they were dealing with a police poseur-buyer. They missed and backup lawmen returned fire, killing the suspects on the spot. Police Scene-of-the-Crime Operatives (SOCO) recovered two caliber .38 revolvers, one plastic sachet of suspected shabu, four fired cartridge cases for caliber 9mm, one unregistered motorcycle, and P500 marked money from the crime scene.
