NRRM announces 5-year tourism strategy

FORT NELSON, B.C. – The Northern Rockies Regional Municipality has started developing a five-year tourism strategy incorporating COVID-19 safety measures to identify the important next steps for the region’s economic development.
This new strategy will use the Northeastern B.C. Destination Development Strategy as well as other existing regional and provincial plans. It will also identify the unique position of the region within those larger initiatives.
Toronto-based Bannikin Travel & Tourism has partnered with B.C.-based EM Adventure Marketing to facilitate the project after being selected based on their submission to a public Expression of Interest process. ....

Dufferin County Council approves Tourism Strategy and Action Plan recommendations

After six months of development, Dufferin County Council has approved a five year Tourism Strategy and Action Plan prepared by consulting company, Bannikin Travel and Tourism.  
Terrilyn Kunopaski, director at Bannikin Travel and Tourism, presented a final report including 30 recommendations for the county’s tourism industry, to councillors at their meeting last Thursday (Dec. 10).
At the beginning of the presentation Kunopaski spoke about the process in creating the strategy and action plan, from its kick-off in June 2020 to the three-phase approach used to create the report.
