Facing a severe financial crunch due to the
covid situation,
BBP) has now introduced a
new concept where philanthropists and animal lovers can contribute to the daily feeding cost. The park has 2,388 animals belonging to 102 species.
An official said, “We are earning revenue of less than a crore per month which is not enough to pay salaries as well as feed the animals. We have opened the adoption drive, but we need many more to take it up to sustain. Many may claim that it is expensive. Hence, we are introducing the daily feeding option where even small timers can join us in the initiative.” ....

The Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Ltd (BMRCL), which recently received approvals for axing 499
trees in four different locations for the Phase II Metro project, will be taking up compensatory plantation mostly on
Army land, documents show.
The BMRCL’s newly-formed social and environment wing has drawn up a plan to plant 4,990 saplings in May and June this year.
Documents show that City-based Nurserymen Co-operative Society Ltd has been entrusted with the task of compensatory plantation with the responsibility to maintain the plants for the next three years. During the maintenance period, the agency is expected to water the plants, remove weeds and grass, prepare quarterly reports on the growth of plants with photographers as well as replace dead plants to ensure ....
