A negative show plunge proved a positive return on Twin B Joe Fresh, who strolled into the stretch without a doubt the winner in the first of two divisions of the $283,000 McWicked Bluegrass Stakes for freshman pacing fillies on Thursday afternoon (Sept. 29) at The Red Mile.
Harness racing’s best will return to The Red Mile beginning on Thursday afternoon (Sept. 29) with the first of its six-day stakes meeting. Freshman trotting colts and geldings and freshman pacing fillies take center stage Thursday in a total of five Bluegrass Stakes divisions.
“What she did tonight was an exceptional effort,” said trainer Shawn Steacy of his rookie filly Sylvia Hanover, who established a stakes record of 1:50.2 with an impressive performance in the lone Champlain Stakes division for two-year-old pacing fillies on Saturday (Sept. 10) at Woodbine Mohawk Park.
Grand Circuit action returns to Woodbine Mohawk Park on Saturday (Sept. 10) with eliminations for the Milton Stakes and a number of highly-touted younger stars in action on the undercard.
