Baltimore County Executive Olszewski to hold news conference at 11 a.m.

Baltimore County Executive Johnny Olszewski announced he is issuing an executive order to cap fees on third-party delivery services, a boost for local restaurants.
Delivery service has been a critical component in helping our restaurants survive this year, Olszewski said at a Tuesday news conference.
However, he said, up to 30% of what customers pay can be eaten up in fees paid to the likes of Grubhub and DoorDash. The new order caps fees charged to restaurants at 15% until the coronavirus state of emergency is over.
The county has provided $13 million in grants to support restaurants during the pandemic. ....

County going 'all-in' to fight climate change


Recognizing the recent five-year anniversary of the Paris Climate Agreement, Baltimore County Executive John Olszewski Jr. announced Friday he has signed the “America Is All In’ declaration, re-affirming Baltimore County’s commitment to building a greener future and a more sustainable county.

Baltimore County plows ready for snowstorm

Baltimore County Executive John Olszewski Jr. on Tuesday said crews are ready to clear the roads when Wednesday s snow hits.
“Our Department of Public Works stands ready to respond whenever winter weather hits to keep our residents safe,” Olszewski said in a statement. “Our crews are well-trained and our equipment is in great shape, so we are ready at the first flake to get our roads salted and plowed as quickly as possible.
At least 24 hours after snow stops, residents may report issues like unplowed streets through the BaltCoGo app or the county website or by calling the Bureau of Highways at 410-887-3560. ....
