The problems facing the country are still numerous even after the resignation of Prime Minister Joseph Jouthe, the fifth under President Jovenel Moïse, last Wednesday. The Prime Minister did not give a clear explanation of the reasons for leaving his post, but earlier in the year, Mr. Jouthe wrote a letter of resignation to the President, who refused to accept it. This time around, the President accepted the resignation and quickly found a replacement in former Minister of Foreign Affairs, Claude Joseph.
