Lauderdale police put out a statement describing the details of what happened saying this was a 77yearold driver who was chosen to drive this truck in the parade because his ailments prevented him from walking in the procession. So as the truck was starting to move forward at the beginning of the parade it suddenly accelerated and that s when witnesses saw this truck plow across the street and into that garden center.
