D Pandian
CHENNAI: Senior Communist Party of India (CPI) leader D Pandian passed away in Government Rajiv Gandhi General Hospital (RGGH) in Chennai on Friday morning after two days of hospitalisation . He was 88.
Pandian, who had been unwell over the recent months and was wheelchair-bound, was admitted to RGGH on Wednesday.
According to hospital dean Dr E Theranirajan, the 88-year-old had a chronic kidney disease. He was on regular haemodialysis. On Wednesday, he was admitted to hospital in an unconscious state with sepsis and hypoglycaemia.
As his condition worsened, he was on life support including ventilator in the intensive care unit till he breathed his last.
