The Sindh police’s Special Security Unit (SSU) recently issued its annual performance report for the year 2020. The statement issued with the report said that SSU commandos and officials of other law enforcement agencies (LEAs) took active part in operations against hardened terrorists and criminals throughout the year.
In total, 148 raids were conducted in collaboration with different LEAs, resulting in the arrest of 163 suspects. Caches of explosives, weapons and ammunition, and vehicles, mobile phones, laptops and important documents were recovered from their possession.

The SSU’s SWAT (Special Weapons And Tactics) team comprising six members showcased their remarkable skills in the second edition of the UAE SWAT Challenge hosted by the Dubai police at the Al Ruwayyah Training City. ....

The Special Security United (SSU) Police arrested 168 suspects in 148 raids in 2020, besides performing security duties on key occasions.
According to the SSU spokesperson s statement on Wednesday, detailing the special unit s activities over the past year, SSU chalked out the security plan for Pakistan Super League in February and for the remaining games in November. Besides, the SSU commandos performed the security duties on Eid Miladun Nabi and Ashura and other occasions.
The spokesperson further mentioned that SSU Commando Khan Saeed Afridi won the gold medal in the Thai Boxing Championships in Bangkok by defeating his Chinese opponent, while lady commando Bakhtawar Bhatti bagged the first position in the First Lady Commando Shooting Competition. ....

KARACHI: Female commandos of the Sindh Police Special Security Unit (SSU) secured the top spot in the first lady commandos shooting contest held at the SSU headquarters.
The spokesman for the SSU Karachi said the unit’s female commandos exhibited exceptional professional skills and secured distinct positions in the First Lady Commandos Shooting Competition, December 2020, in which SSU and the Sindh Rangers commandos had participated.
The ‘Team’ category of the shooting competition was won by ‘Team SSU’ after a close contest with ‘Team Sindh Rangers’, who secured 664 points and 651 points respectively.In the category of ‘Precision Fire’, the SSU’s Bakhtawar Bhatti came in first, the SSU’s Shahida Khan secured the second position and the SSU’s Rubab Kanwal bagged the third spot. ....
