Damaging tornado in Duval County
In Duval County, a damaging tornado began at 4:45 p.m. Wednesday at 6 miles north-northeast of Mandarin and continued 3.75 miles to an area 4 miles south of Arlington where it ended at 4:51 p.m.
The tornado, rated EF-1, had estimated peak winds of 105-110 mph, the weather service reported.
According to the weather service survey summary, the tornado initially touched down along San Ardo Drive, northeast of Beauclerc, damaging some homes near Goodby s Creek. The tornado continued northward, through San Jose, with damage reported along Old Kings Road and Powers Avenue, just west of Baker-Skinner Park, where several trees were completely uprooted.
