OLDER people living in sheltered housing complexes are being consulted over a shake-up of the service. River Clyde Homes wants to turn both Glebe Court in Kilmacolm and Monkton Place in Port Glasgow into retirement housing instead. This would mean a reduction in the warden service. But the housing association says there would be flexible support and continued activities, as well as a reduction in rent. Inverclyde s largest social landlord currently has a total of nine sheltered housing complexes around the district and management are looking at the housing support people will need in future. Stevie McLachlan, RCH head of customer experience, said: Over the past 12 months River Clyde Homes have been reviewing our housing options for older customers, which has included the current sheltered housing provision. ....
