Call of penalties on contracting companies
KUWAIT CITY, April 20: A number of MPs have responded positively to an Egyptian working as security guard in a school after he appeared in a video clip complaining that he did not receive his salary for the past five months. MPs Mehalhal Al-Mudaf and Osama Al-Shaheen called on the Ministry of Education to pay the salaries of security guards in schools and impose penalties on contracting companies which violated the provisions of the relevant contracts.

The Ministry of Education has announced that it already transferred the salaries to the contracting companies until March 2021. The Egyptian security guard was later seen in a picture with MP Salah Zeib Al-Mutairi in the latter’s vehicle while they were leaving the Ministry of Interior. Al-Mutairi personally followed up the ministry’s investigation into the complaint of the security guard after uploading the video clip. ....

KUWAIT CITY, March 11: The parliamentary Education, Culture and Guidance Affairs Committee on Wednesday approved bills regarding the allowance of Kuwaitis studying at Kuwait University and the Public Authority for Applied Education and Training (PAAET), as well as those on local scholarship.
Committee Chairman MP Hamad Al-Matar disclosed that they approved the proposal to increase the allowance from KD200 to KD300 per month; as well as the suggestion to add male Kuwaiti students married to non-Kuwaitis, Bedouns and children of Kuwaiti women married to non- Kuwaitis to the beneficiaries of the allowance.
He explained that Bedouns were added to the beneficiaries, taking into consideration their small number and the need to support them as their success in pursuing higher studies implies they are excellent and dedicated students. MP seeks pullback on foreign aid
KUWAIT CITY, March 9: MP Abdullah Al-Turaiji has called for rationalizing the financial support that Kuwait grants to other countries in light of the low oil prices and the major negative economic consequences of coronavirus.
The lawmaker also forwarded queries to Minister of Finance Khalifa Hamada about all the amounts of grants given to other countries from 1990 to 2020. He requested for details such as the amount granted to every country and the criteria adopted in distributing grants.
Meanwhile, National Assembly Speaker Marzouq Al- Ghanim confirmed that he received the grilling motion filed by MPs Badr Al-Dahoum and Muhammad Al-Mutair against His Highness the Prime Minister Sheikh Sabah Al-Khaled. ....
