Bacolodnons urged to avail Covid-19 vaccine

March 01, 2021 BACOLOD City Mayor Evelio Leonardia urged Bacolodnons to avail themselves of the coronavirus disease (Covid-19) vaccine once it is available in the city. Leonardia, who is also the national President of the League of Cities of the Philippines (LCP), said Monday, March 1, that they already made an initial payment of more than P31 million to AstraZeneca for the procurement of 650,000 doses of Covid-19 vaccine. The initial payment practically consummates our contract for these critical vaccine supplies. We wanted to close the agreement as early as we could and that is why we made the payment ahead of the February 24 deadline, he said.
