particular thing he talked about last week pretty strongly, which is raising the age for when you can get a rifle from 18 to 21. didn t mention that today and that s something the nra does not support. so later on during the day when sarah huckabee sanders was asked was this because he had lunch with the nra, she pushed back and said we re still considering it. it seemed like a step back from last week. i m glad you mentioned that. we have a videotape review of the changing position here. we ll play that and talk to you, jeremy, on the other side of it. we re going to do strong background collection, we re going to work on getting the age up to 21 instead of 18. are you going to go up against the nra? thank you very much. i don t think i ll be going up against them. i really think the nra wants to do what s right. they re very close to me, i m very close to them. they re very, very great people. they love this country.

the right. but we ve got a lot of congressmen and state legislatures in oklahoma who are good people and who would like to see something done. it just takes the courage to a look, our kids are more important than our party line. it s more important than trying to make sure we win the next primary. you know, it s also, you can be afraid of what happens when the hard liners turn out in the primary. you got to get your people out there because there are more americans who want to put a stop to this tan there are who are willing to go along with it. micky, i think it s important to note this. it is tough sometimes. but when 85% of the people support better background collection and they know that weapons of war shouldn t be on the street, it shouldn t take much courage. barbara boxer, that was fascinating, thank you both. you reminded me of that insane plastic gun issue from back in the 90s and the nra said no, we

we looked at half of the background checks we were doing. in the previous year. 133 people convicted of sexual assault. we did stop them. 1300 people convicted of felony assault where someone usually goes to the hospital. they work. i couldn t find a single republican out in the community who was against it and yet somehow the republican party made a deal with the devil that they were going to stand united against anything even the most common sense background checks. i think there are plenty of democrats that are i m angry. i ll jump up and down if you want me to. so frustrating that we can t sit down and have a rational discussion. and i mean, why are we doing state by state universal background collection? why getting rid of bump stocks? no earthly reason. a bump stock allows people to evade the existing law that is against automatic weapons.
