Whipped east, apparent tornadoes touching dwn and on-loading heavy rain and hail. extreme weather also dominated outside the south. heavy rains kept triggering widespread flooding from the snoin t sierra, as much as r feet blanng higherevioough t r traffic in and out of denver international airport. in the upper midwest, drivers from the dakotas through minnesotg enc blizzard and whiteout conditions. if i get caught out in this kind of stuff, i try to avoid driving too fast. reporter: back down south, those suspected tornadoes brought widespread damage beginning last night destroying homes and damaging parts of this high school in jessieville, arkansas. here in alabama this volatile storm system will linger for hours and the threat of tornadoes will stay real for part of the state all night long. norah. o donnell: mark strassmann, thank you so much.
