The Borno State Government under the leadership of Babagana Zulu has sacked the camp chairman of the State Emergency Management Agency, Abbah Tor for allegedly stealing at least 30 water tanks meant for Bama Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) camp. More than 200,000 refugees were displaced by violence ravaging the states in the North-west. Zulum made the call for the return of the refugees on Thursday at a stakeholders’ implementation meeting on the Global Compact of Refugees in Abuja. The event was organised by the Ministry of Humanitarian and Disaster Management Affairs in collaboration with the United Nations Refugee Agency (UNHCR). Mr Zulum said his government was keen on supporting the over 200,000 refugees from Borno in neighbouring countries like Cameroon, Republic of Niger and Chad be brought back home. “We need to follow up commitment with action, which is very important.
