Sports Illustrated has just dropped a new mock draft for the 2021 NFL Draft. What is unique with this mock draft is that each publisher from the Sports Illustrated sites covering the NFL each had their say.
However, the one rule is that there could be no trades in order to move up or down the order. As such, the Houston Texans do not have a pick in this particular mock draft, but it could be a good reference for what conference and divisional rivals could do in order to bolster their rosters.
Besides . as you ll see below, we still make a first pick for Houston. Dig in!
Biggest needs: QB, TE, S, OL
There isn t a more obvious pick in the draft. Heck, there might not be a more obvious pick in the last plus-decade. For all intents and purposes, the Jaguars have essentially had Trevor Lawrence s name written down on the draft card since they secured the No. 1 overall pick in December and this was only intensified when Urban Meyer took the head coaching job the following month. Lawrence isn t perfect, but he is the best quarterback in the draft and has the tools to carry a franchise with some more development. Combine his on-field traits, Meyer s long-held obsession with his talent, and the way he meshes with Jacksonville s franchise as a leader, and this is a pick that is easy to make.

The New Orleans Saints will have options at cornerback, linebacker, defensive and offensive lineman to select in the first round of the 2021 NFL Draft on April 29. The Saints usually are extremely guarded before each draft. I took a shot and gave my selection based on the players selected ahead in the Publishers mock draft. My thoughts? You shall see.

The Green Bay Packers had the best record in the NFC last season but will enter this month’s NFL Draft with some obvious areas of need.
At cornerback, they could use an upgrade opposite Jaire Alexander. On the offensive line, they lost center Corey Linsley in free agency and there is zero depth at offensive tackle, a problem considering All-Pro left tackle David Bakhtiari is coming off a torn ACL. The defensive line, even with high-priced veteran Kenny Clark, made almost no impact last season. Even with the top-ranked scoring offense, there is a long-term need, if nothing else, at receiver. And the jury is out about the young inside linebacker tandem of Krys Barnes and Kamal Martin.
