Mar. 10 The state announced an equity plan last week that will see communities like Yuba and Sutter counties receive additional COVID-19 vaccine doses, as the state directs 40 percent of its supply to the most vulnerable populations impacted by the ongoing pandemic. As part of the state s effort to address health inequity, counties were asked to prioritize vaccinations in ZIP Codes that are in the lowest quarter of what is called the Healthy Places Index (HPI), which is a measure of vulnerability based upon the social determinants of health, non-medical policies, and conditions that impact health incomes, said Dr. Homer Rice, director of Yuba County Public Health. ....
