National Night Out is an annual event, held on the first Tuesday in August, to celebrate community, safety and service. AES students donate items to the Humane Society Submitted by Avon Elementary School AVON-AES Cares is a service project organization at Avon Elementary school. The idea this year came from third grader Lyndie Snyder during her campaign for student council. She wanted to do something to make a difference with animals at the Humane Society of Fulton County. For two weeks in March, students from each class at the elementary brought in supplies for the Humane Society of Fulton County. As a contest, the winning class was promised an ice cream party. Ultimately, Pre-K, Kindergarten and second grades gifted their donations to first and fifth grades. ....
