Wreckers fall to New Canaan in defensive battle

Wreckers fall to Ridgefield in opening round of states, season ends

The Staples boys’ soccer team lost to Ridgefield in overtime on Nov.7 in the first round of the CIAC state tournament, concluding their season.  In an intense back and forth matchup, the Ridgefield forward was able to grab the winner by latching onto a loose pass with 10 minutes left in overtime, making the score.

Staples cruises past Fairfield Warde in fiery battle

The blazing hot Staples boys’ soccer team kept their unbeaten season alive as they defeated Fairfield Warde 3-0 this past Friday, Oct. 6 in an under-the-lights contest. A pair of goals from Emmett Nivaud ’25 and a goal from star forward Avery Mueller ’24 was plenty for the Wreckers to beat the Mustangs; the exciting.
