The Avantha Chair was established in 2011, as part of a generous donation by the Avantha Group to advance the King’s India Institute’s goal of becoming the leading international centre for the study of contemporary India. Based in the School of Global Affairs in the Faculty of Social Science & Public Policy, the Institute’s mission is to pursue world-leading and multi-disciplinary and influential research, teaching, and public engagement on contemporary India.
King’s India Institute is now searching for a new Avantha Chair to join our thriving academic community. The successful candidate will be an exceptional researcher, with a strong publication record in a field relevant to the Institute and School’s research. Current areas of strength include democracy, the state and political institutions in India; political economy; Indian foreign policy and strategic studies; and society and economy in India. ....
