Wageningen University & Research (WUR) and Tencent have opened registration for the first phase of the International Autonomous Greenhouse Challenge.
Experts in artificial intelligence from companies and start-ups, as well as students and researchers from universities and research institutes, are welcome to participate in the online challenge to virtually grow lettuce and judge lettuce images in different growth stages.

WUR and Tencent announce third autonomous greenhouse challenge

Wageningen University & Research and Tencent have announced the third edition of the International Autonomous Greenhouse Challenge.
This time, multidisciplinary teams from around the world will use artificial intelligence to remotely produce lettuce. The goal of the third challenge – to be held from June 2021 to June 2022 – will be a fully automated and controlled greenhouse without human interference.
