ARIA Appoints Natalie Waller as Chair


ARIA has a new chair.
With immediate effect, Natalie Waller is elected chair for a two-year term, slotting into the position left vacant by the exit of former Sony Music ANZ chief Denis Handlin.
A stalwart with the Australian Broadcasting Corporation (ABC), Waller has served as head of ABC Music & Events since 2012, having joined the public-broadcaster in 1998.
At ABC Music, Waller has experience across many genres, with an emphasis on Australian music and championing niche genres, and she works with a string of ABC music brands including the national youth network, triple j.
Currently, she holds the post as vice chair of the Country Music Association of Australia (CMAA), was appointed to the board of the Country Music Association (CMA) in January 2021 and serves as chair of the CMA Australian Task Force. ....

Retired Lieutenant Colonel Tony Howell has written a second book about the Vietnam War, which is due to be published on August 18 – Vietnam Veterans’ Day.
Vietnam veteran Tony Howell and his fellow New Zealand soldiers knew something was amiss on the morning of February 7, 1968 in Bien Hoa province.
“We were used to the jungle,” said the retired lieutenant colonel. “You get used to the rhythm of the jungle, so you know what is not right. On February 7, 1968, things were not right.”
Howell first acclimatised to jungle life during service in Malaysia and Borneo between February 1965 and November 1967 before he arrived in South Vietnam on November 12, 1967. ....

Extensive coverage of Minister for the Army Mr Phillip Lynch during his visit to Australian units in South Vietnam, the Philippines, Malaysia and Singapore. Mr Lynch spent five days in South Vietnam accompanied by Mrs Lynch and the Army secretary Mr Bruce White. Shows the arrival at Ton Son Nhut airport Saigon.
