Jake Lloyd grew up in Round Rock, Texas just 20 minutes outside of Austin in a musically inclined family. His father and grandfather sang in the church and his grandmother was a professionally trained organ and piano player. Growing up Jake listened to eclectic artists like Rick James and Prince, which would later shape his one-of-a-kind sound.
In 2010, Lloyd met producer and future bandmate Danny Saldivar II known as DSII. The two would continue to collaborate and create their own unique sound by fusing multiple genres together. In 2018, the singer/songwriter released his debut self-titled album, and just one year later he dropped
