KENT COUNTY, MI – A man accused of setting fire to Austin-Jordan Engines after burglarizing the Wyoming business will be jailed pending trial, a judge said.
Kevin Daniel Baker, 33, of Saranac, was indicted on charges of arson and possession of a stolen firearm.
The business, at 4259 Clyde Park Avenue SW, sustained at least $250,000 in damage, Wyoming police said.
In a detention hearing Thursday, April 22, U.S. District Magistrate Judge Phillip Green determined that Baker “is a danger to the community” and should be held pending trial. ....

A man facing multiple felonies for breaking into a Wyoming auto business and setting it on fire now has federal charges added to the list.
A federal indictment this week accuses 33-year-old Kevin Daniel Baker of arson and possession of a stolen firearm.

WYOMING, Mich. — The Wyoming Department of Public Safety is investigating a burglary and possible arson that occurred at an engine repair shop over the weekend.
Around 7:30 a.m. on Sunday, Jan. 17, Wyoming firefighters responded to a fire at Austin-Jordan Engines (4259 Clyde Park SW).
Investigators found that the shop, which suffered extensive damage from the fire, had been burglarized and purposefully set afire before the suspect took off in a stolen car. ....
