A fire that broke out early Friday at the former Long Estate, a nearly 12,000-square-foot mansion in Central Austin that was owned by philanthropists Joe and Teresa Long, took hours to knock down and the extent of the damage it wrought is still unknown, the Austin Fire Department said. The home, which was put up for auction by the Longs in July 2020, according to Austin Culture Map, was unoccupied at the time of the fire and no injuries have been reported. A driver reported at 3:17 a.m. that smoke was coming out of the mansion at 2308 Woodlawn Blvd., just east of MoPac Boulevard (Loop 1) near Windsor Road. ....
